PINPOINT TEST 11: THE CHARGE SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ON

Normal Operation
The charging system warning indicator is controlled by the instrument cluster based upon data received from the powertrain control module (PCM) over the CAN circuits. The instrument cluster will set DTC B1317 if the battery voltage, when in the START/RUN position, exceeds 16.5 volts DC ±0.5 volts DC. The instrument cluster will set DTC B1318 if battery voltage, when in the START/RUN position, drops below 9 volts DC ±0.5 volts DC.
