Latch - Removal

REMOVAL

Compass and Patriot





NOTE: Compass shown, Patriot similar.

1. Remove the lower liftgate trim panel (3), Liftgate Trim Panel - Removal.

Compass





1. Remove three fasteners (1).
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3. Disconnect the release cable.

Patriot





1. Disconnect the latch cable (1) from the exterior handle (2).





2. Separate the clip (4) and disconnect the lock rod (3).





3. Remove the fasteners (3) and disconnect the electrical connector (1).
4. Remove the latch assembly (2).
