Idler Pulley: Service and Repair




Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the left wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) suction hose from the compressor. Refer to Suction Hose Replacement (LLV, LLR) (Suction Hose Replacement)Suction Hose Replacement (LH9) (Suction Hose Replacement).
4. Remove the A/C discharge hose from the compressor. Refer to Discharge Hose Replacement (LLV, LLR) (Discharge Hose Replacement)Discharge Hose Replacement (LH9) (Discharge Hose Replacement).
5. Remove the bolts securing the drive belt idler pulley to the engine.
6. Remove drive belt idler pulley from the engine.

Installation Procedure




1. Position drive belt idler pulley to the engine.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the bolts securing the drive belt idler pulley to the engine.
Tighten the bolts in sequence to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
3. Install the A/C suction hose to the compressor. Refer to Suction Hose Replacement (LLV, LLR) (Suction Hose Replacement)Suction Hose Replacement (LH9) (Suction Hose Replacement).
4. Install the A/C discharge hose to the compressor. Refer to Discharge Hose Replacement (LLV, LLR) (Discharge Hose Replacement)Discharge Hose Replacement (LH9) (Discharge Hose Replacement).
5. Install the left wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
