Fuel Tank - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the fuel pump module (3) Fuel Pump Module - Removal
3. Remove the fuel from the fuel tank Procedures.
4. Replace the fuel access hole cover to reduce fuel odor.
5. Raise and support the vehicle Maintenance.





6. Remove the muffler (2) and resonator (3) Removal.





7. Remove the fuel filler connector (5) from the fuel tank (3).






NOTE: The heat shield and the fuel tank support straps are part of the fuel tank and do not require being removed from the tank. If the fuel tank is being replaced. The new tank will have the support straps and heat shield mounted.

8. Using a suitable jack. Support the fuel tank.
9. Remove the fuel tank (1) from the vehicle.
