Drum Brake Hardware Inspection

1. Visually inspect the hold down springs and cups (1) for the following conditions:

* Binding spring coils

* Broken spring coils

* Missing springs

* Missing spring cups

* Bent hold down spring pins

* Broken hold down spring pins

* Excessive corrosion





2. Visually inspect the lower brake shoe spring (1) for the following conditions:

* Excessive bending or breakage

* Excessive corrosion

* Loss of spring tension

* Missing





3. Visually inspect the upper return spring (1) for the following conditions:

* Excessive bending or breakage

* Excessive corrosion

* Loss of spring tension

* Missing

4. If any of the listed conditions were evident, the affected part or parts require replacement.
