Ignition Coil Replacement - Bank 1

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses and Compressed Air Warning Safety Glasses and Compressed Air Warning.


1. Ignition OFF.

Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning Service Precautions.


2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

3. Remove the intake manifold sight shield.




4. Remove the ignition coil harness connectors from the ignition coils.

5. Remove the ignition coil to camshaft cover retaining bolts♦(1).

6. Remove the ignition coils♦(2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the ignition coils♦(2) to the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the ignition coil to camshaft cover retaining bolts♦(1) and tighten to 10♦Nm (89♦lb♦in)..

3. Install the ignition coil harness connectors to the ignition coils.

4. Install the intake manifold sight shield.

5. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
