Power Steering Fluid Reservoir: Service and Repair
Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LP1, LY7)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.
2. Remove the air cleaner intake duct.
3. Remove the front air deflector.
4. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
5. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering reservoir.
6. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering reservoir.
7. Remove the larger power steering fluid reservoir bolt (1).
8. Remove the 2 smaller power steering fluid reservoir bolts (1).
9. Remove the power steering reservoir from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the power steering reservoir to the vehicle.
2. Install the 2 smaller power steering fluid reservoir bolts (1).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
Tighten the 2 smaller bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Install the larger power steering fluid reservoir bolt (1).
Tighten the larger bolt to 25 N.m (19 lb ft).
4. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet pipe/hose (2) to the power steering fluid reservoir.
5. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose (2) to the power steering fluid reservoir.
6. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
7. Install the front air deflector.
8. Install the air cleaner intake duct.
9. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
10. Fill and bleed the power steering system.
